North Park History and Heritage

North Park is one of the oldest residential nieighbourhoods in Victoria, B.C., with landmarks dating well back into the 19th century. Since those days, the neighbourhood's residents and businesses have played a significant role in the city's history. Heritage homes and renovated buildings that hold keys to the area's past abound. Their stories have been captured in a comprehensive heritage walking tour illustrated with photographs, which is published by the Victoria Heritage Foundation. VHS was created in 1983 by the City of Victoria to manage its funding program for residential properties.
